Well I decided to take one more rest day just to be cautious. I think my knee is feeling better. I’m able to walk down the stairs without pain and I’m taking that as a good sign. I’m going through withdrawals though. I feel lost and a little ungrounded going so long without a run. Thankfully I have yoga.
I put the Insanity Asylum DVDs in a box with the ladder so they wouldn’t tempt me. I will give them back to my brother when I see him this weekend. I’m bummed that I can’t do the workouts but I’ve already found something new to try.
I have purchased the 21 Day Fix and the 3 Day Refresh from BeachBody. I’m excited to try something new and I’m hoping the refresh will be the reboot I need to get back on track. I also signed up for the BeachBody On Demand. I’ve done Daily Burn but found that I only did the same 5 or 6 workouts. The BeachBody On Demand though has a variety of their workout programs so I can try a few without committing to purchasing them. Very cool in my book.
I have less than 3 weeks until my first two races. I’m excited, but a little nervous since I’m doing a 5 miler and then a half marathon the next day. It’ll be fun though and even if I only PR by a few seconds any improvement will be a good one. Especially since I’ve had issues so close to race day.
I’ve signed up for another race as well. I know I know…..I said I wasn’t going to go all crazy with races this year, but this one looks so fun!!! So the big run around here is the Broad Street Run…it’s a 10 Miler. According to te commercials it’s the biggest 10 miler in the country. Entry is based on a lottery system. I thought about signing up for it but decided against it. I’m glad I did. I found another one to run instead! Good Day For A Run 10 Miler is held the same day and it’s at a vineyard! It’s a total win. I can run 10 miles and then drink wine? I’m in. My friend and I ran a 5k last fall that was organized by the same company and it was awesome. Plus at $35 you just can’t beat it. I don’t need a T-shirt or medal, most of my shirts end up going to my boyfriend anyway.
I’m on day 10 without cheese. I’m finding that I don’t miss it nearly as much as I thought I would.
Foam roller challenge is going strong. Day 4 done and I’ll probably do another 10 minutes on it later this evening. I actually found a video I like better Foam Roller Exercise. Its a bit longer and also has some additional moves for more than just your legs. The one for your lats is a killer!
This spring weather is tempting me to risk running a day early. I swear all I saw the last 4 days off from running was runners. Running along happily and injury free…..grrrrrr. Tomorrow though perhaps I’ll be able to wear a T-shirt for my run!!!!
